The European Creativity Festival comes back to Barcelona

From November 9 to 11, the Barcelona Hub Design will become in the epicenter of European creativity with the 4th edition of the European creativity Festival:  a program full of conferences, workshops, awards, exhibitions, networking, all organized by Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE). Renowned design, creativity and tech figures will be part of a series of conferences and workshops under the title Imagineering Creative Intelligence. The Festival will also allow space for the best continental design and visual communication works recognition

ADCE Awards and distinguished lectures

Sixty international juries will deliberate during the whole Thursdays 9 on more than 800 works submitted to the ADCE Awards. The winners will be revealed during the Festival. On the other hand, days 10 and 11 will be offered a program full of activities about the relationship between imagination, technology and creativity. The main course of this edition will be booked for the conferences on Friday, with outstanding speakers such as:

  • Fernanda Romano, creative director and strategy director at  Malagueta Group, will  stand up for the fact that artificial intelligence would not be able to replace creators.
  • Steve Vranakis, executive creative director at Google Creative Lab will demonstrate why we all have to become creative activists.
  • Luna Maurer, CEO of the design Dutch studio Moniker, will think about the rules that design pursue.
  • Julio Obelleiro, co-founder of Wildbytes agency and expert in experiencing design, will talk about how to transform innovative ideas into unexpected surprises.

Creative workshops in which ELISAVA participates

The program includes 7 creative workshops that will take place on Saturday 11th in the morning. One of these workshops will be delivered by ELISAVA's professor Sílvia Escursell, who will focused on visual communication and future scenarios from new materials and state-of-the-art technology: from graphene to new ways of designing through biomaterials, nanomaterials or  lab materials. Other workshops, in which aspects such as data visualization, virtual reality and Artificial Intelligence will converge, will be coordinated by Barcelona studio Domestic Data Streamers, with a significant presence of ELISAVA alumni; the Icelandic studio Gagarín and Fernanda Romano and Julio Obelleiro.
