Circular Materials Design

Pere Llorach, Laura Clèries, Salva Fábregas

Circular Materials Design is a multidisciplinary methodological proposal which aims to combine creative processes from design disciplines (e.g. design thinking), material sciences (e.g. materials characterization methods) and environmental sciences (e.g. life cycle assessment method). It intends to establish the basis on how to create new circular materials and products by using waste as raw material or alternative biologically-grown materials, while ensuring that these fit in a circular economy and that they have a lower environmental impact than already existing materials and products.
